GX-100 System Program (Ver.2.01)
HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
Before you start, check the system program version of your GX-100.
- Turn on the power.
- The version information appears in the lower right corner of the startup display.
If this shows the latest version (Version 2.01 or later), there's no need to update your GX-100. - After verifying the displayed version, turn off the power.

Functionality Improvements
- Memory name is displayed in Play Screen when Control Mode view.
- When changing BANK(in WAIT1 or WAIT 2 mode), the memory name and the BANK number are displayed as destination.
- COLOR MODE has been added to HARDWARE SETTINGS.
- The default value for Auto Off has been changed to 20 minutes.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE YOUR GX-100
- GX-100
- USB cable
* The update is carried out with the unit and the computer connected via USB.
Provide a cable suitable for connection to the computer you're using. - Computer (Windows or Mac) equipped with a USB port compliant with USB 2.0
CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
- If you update on the normal mode of GX-100 against the correct procedure, this update data may destroy the system program.
- Never power-off your GX-100 while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the GX-100 won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. - We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
- Hold down [ WRITE ] button and turn on the power.
* Continue to hold down WRITE until "GX-100 Updater" appears on the display. - Connect the computer to the GX-100's USB port by a USB cable.
- Open the "GX-100" drive folder in your personal computer. With WindowsWithin My Computer (or Computer), open "GX-100" (or Removable Disk).With macOSOn the desktop, open the "GX-100" icon.
- Download the file named "gx100_sys_v201.zip".
Please open/extract the downloaded "gx100_sys_v201.zip" file on your computer to get the update file in the "gx100_sys_v201" folder.
Copy (drag and drop) all files in the "gx100_sys_v201" folder into the root directory of the "GX-100" drive. - After the copy has been completed, unmount or remove the drive on your computer. With WindowsRight-click on the "GX-100" icon in My Computer (or the "Removable Disk (*:)" icon) and execute "Eject."With macOSDrag the "GX-100" icon to the Trash icon in the Dock.
- The update process will start.
- The message "COMPLETE" will appear on the display when the update process completes.
- Turn the GX-100 power off.
Follow the procedure for verifying the version to verify that the version has been updated.
